We buy from the very well developed China manufacturing sector. There are thousands of companies in China making LED products. Through intense competition and experience some of these companies have developed great products well suited to the North American Market. We find and bring these products to you.
Yes. All are UL Listed or Classified. All products are qualified by life testing and are well designed and thoughtfully manufactured. Most are DLC listed also except downlights which are Energy Star rated.
The two main components are the “driver” and the LED panel or board. The Driver converts the AC line voltage to the DC voltage required by the LED panel. The LED panel is uses surface mount devices (SMD’s) which are mounted by pick and place machines. There is also a housing and lens of course.
Yes, many are dimmable. We offer both dimmable and non-dimmable where possible. If the cost for dimmable is not too high, we carry only dimmable which can be used without a dimmer if dimming function not required. Also, the dimmable function can be activated in the future if desired.
In our products there is a separate 0 – 10 VDC control in the driver which dims the light output. A special switch/controller is needed to dim the fixture. Typical of these are those made by Lutron or Leviton for example.
Yes. Motion sensors are popular. They can hold the LED fixture light output at “off” or some low level, like 30% of output, until some motion is sensed, then take the fixture to full output. Most have programmable delays possible also.
The light output of LED’s decays over time and is defined by the L70 point on the decay curve. This is when the light output reaches 70% of the initial output. Many times this light output is defined as 50,000 hours although all applications are different. This is much longer than an incandescent lamp or fluorescent tube.
LED fixtures last a long time, use less electricity for a given light output and do not contain mercury as fluorescent lamps do so they do not pollute the earth upon final disposal. They are a good environmental choice.
